One balmy afternoon I find myself strolling along the Bonifacio Global City. And lo, Union Jacks, the London Tower and the Stonehenge have sprouted up at the High Street!

As part of The Great British Festival organized by the UK Embassy, numerous replicas of famous British landmarks that also include the Tower Bridge, the Big Ben and the Buckingham Palace are placed across the Bonifacio High Street along with dozens of participating merchants selling British food, clothes, gadgets, and even tours to the UK.

Farther along, a large food stall is serving a plethora of food, including the British classic fish and chips. Too bad, I’m vegan right now.

At the westernmost end of High Street, a large screen has been installed, showing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. A smattering of kids are horseplaying on the mat laid out in front, while dozens of families are seated further back, watching the movie.

The three-day event, which will run until tomorrow, seeks to foster Filipino-British relations.
